For anyone interested in old cars this is the story of the restoration of my 1934 Standard 9. AXR was in a bit of
a state and feeling very sorry for herself when found but luckily was complete. The
transformation took place over three and a half years and I enjoyed every minute of it. I hope that you find the story interesting and enjoy looking at the pages
The restoration of AXR 372
1934 Standard 9
AXR was found in a field in 1995. On lifting the bonnet
the pistons stared back at me (the cylinder head was on the floor inside the car).
The head lining was hanging down, and the seats and carpets were tattered and torn. As you can
see the body metal work was a bit rough, there were holes in abundance. Look at the sill under
the passengers door for starters.
