The sill as removed, the corrosion is extensive!

The new sill plus the centre pillar.

The new sill in position and the door pillar secured. The pillar is both bolted and welded to the sill at the bottom, at the top it is bolted to the roof member.

I have now mounted the body onto a wooden frame fitted with wheels so that I can move it around easily. I have finished the drivers side, now I am working on the front and then moving around to the passengers side then onto the rear. The amount of rust is incredible, every inch of the surface is cratered like the moon. I am grinding all the rust off with the angle grinder then treating it with "Metal Ready Rust Remover" supplied by Frost of Rochdale. Then I give it a coat of etching primer, this will look after it untill I am ready for painting. The sills will have to be replaced and the bottom edge accross the rear will have to be renewed. Numerouse patches are being welded into mouse holes here and there.
